Breath-taking natural scenery and outstanding vineyards with custom-made private group tours
A wine tasting tour offers you the opportunity to experience the striking natural scenery of Mexico’s Baja region, visiting and learning about the vineyards and winemaking, while tasting some extraordinary wine and food along the way.
A private group tour provides a fully managed tour, customized for your group, that will provide an extraordinary tour and experience of the Baja California wine region.
These customized tours typically accommodate between 2 and 16 people in your private party; larger groups may be accommodated by request. Children are welcome in your group, but only participants 18 years of age and older may taste the wine.
Our travel partner’s Baja California wine tours provide guides and transportation exclusively assigned to your party. As part of your tour package, all your transportation, wine tours, accommodations, and assistance services will be provided to ensure that your time is spent absorbing the experience and not concerning about the travel logistics.
Your custom tour can receive you and your party from one of three locations:
- Tijuana airport (Airport: TIJ);
- San Diego airport (Airport: SAN); or
Road transportation is provided by modern, comfortable, and air-conditioned vehicles, commensurate with your party size. Vehicles, drivers and passengers are fully insured, and spring water is provided on-board for your refreshment.
Valle de Guadalupe wine tasting tour itinerary
This classic wine tour in the famous Valle de Guadalupe in Baja California has been specially crafted to enable you to get the most out of your visit to taste the wines which are produced in this region. Additional days and activities can be planned and quoted by request.
Two days, one night
Your classic two-day wine tour begins in the morning, being met personally at the airport in San Diego, Tijuana, or in Ensenada, and swiftly transported to a remarkable local restaurant to enjoy a traditional Mexican breakfast ahead of your first day activities.
After breakfast, on route to the Valle de Guadalupe, you’ll stop for a break and refreshments at a vantagepoint to take in spectacular views of Todos los Santos bay, near Ensenada.
You’ll arrive in Valle de Guadalupe during the early afternoon and visit two remarkable vineyards today — Villa Montefiori and Las Nubes —where you’ll get a tour of each vineyard and winery, and enjoy tasting of the fine wines produced at each of these estates.
After your visits to the estates, you’ll arrive at Finca Altozano for your afternoon meal: a four-course BajaMed style menu created under the supervision of head chef Javier Plascencia.
After your meal, you’ll be taken to your comfortable boutique hotel in Valle de Guadalupe where you can unwind after the day’s tour, rest, and enjoy the remainder of the evening at your leisure.
Your second day begins around 10 a.m. After checking out of your hotel, you’ll be met and taken to “La Cocina de Doña Esthela” a traditional Mexican fonda serving authentically delicious homemade Mexican breakfasts.
After breakfast, you’ll be transported to discover two more vineyards — Casa Frida and Viñedos Barón Balché — where you’ll be given a tour of each estate, learn how the grapes are grown and fermented, and take part in wine tasting.
A delicious three-course meal will be served this afternoon at the remarkable El Tahual restaurant, situated on the Barón Balché estate, and where your meal will be perfectly paired with the wine produced on the estate.
After lunch, you’ll visit the Cuatro Cuatros vineyard and estate to taste more remarkable wines as well as tequila at the estate’s famous Bar Bura while you take-in extraordinary unbroken views across the Pacific Ocean.
In the early evening, your party will be transferred back to your airport of choice, or to Ensenada.

Our travel partner can optionally quote for additional days and activities as part of a customized itinerary. Additional activities in the region include:
- Tour of the historical quarter of Ensenada
- Visit purveyors of fine cheeses and olive oils produced in the region
- Taste fresh, locally-caught, lobster at a fine seafood restaurant
Your accommodations on the wine tour
Our travel partner works closely with the owners of fine boutique hotels in the region with properties close to the vineyard estates that offer guests comfort, authentic flair, and comfortable amenities so that you can unwind and enjoy your evening and overnight stay amidst agreeable surroundings. Our travel partners will offer your party overnight stays at carefully selected accommodations based on availability on your travel dates.
Prices for the the classic 2-day, 1-night tour are based on the size of your party and are quoted in US dollars per person, based on two people sharing a room.

- Being met personally at the airport, or in Ensenada, and private transport throughout your tour, including return transfer to the airport or Ensenada

- One overnight stay at one of the outstanding boutique hotels in the Valle de Guadalupe, based on two people sharing a room
