One of the most attractive aspects about Mexico as a travel destination is that it’s a place which offers genuine choice and diversity to visitors.

Some people go to Mexico to party all night at places like Los Cabos, Acapulco, Cancun or Mazatlan. Others escape to Mexico to get active climbing mountains or trekking amidst the varying breath-taking backdrops of Mexico’s great outdoors.

Sometimes you might just feel a need to go away, forget about exertions of any description, and simply unwind.   Mexico is good for that, too.  Here are some tips and ideas to find tranquil spaces in Mexico:

Get Out of Town
Most of the all-night parties and vacation crowds congregate in town centers.  To find peace and quiet, stay at a hotel out of town, especailly if you are going somewhere like Acapulco, Cancun, Mazatlan or Los Cabos.  This is easy to accomplish when you browse Hotels in Mexico on Mexperience, as our detailed reviews indicate the hotel’s locality.

Choose Quieter Locations
Five locations to consider for a quiet rest include: Costalegre, Zihuatanejo, Merida/Yucatan, Puerto Escondido and Oaxaca City.

Be Selective with Your Hotel
Even in well-frequented locations you can find peace and quiet by being selective with your choice of accommodation.  Consider a Boutique Hotel in Mexico, or an Hacienda Hotel in Mexico.  Our detailed guides tell you about these wonderful spaces which offer a retreat from the crowds and you may also browse boutique hotels and haciendas from our collection and make your reservations with Mexperience. Also consider an adult-only hotel - see below.

Relax and Revive at a Spa in Mexico
Choose a destination spa like Mision del Sol in Cuernavaca or Avandaro Resort in Valle de Bravo.  Alternatively, choose resort spa at a top-class property, for example, the Four Seasons at Punta de Mita, or the Tamarindo Resort on the Costalegre.  Read our complete guide to Spas in Mexico for details about spas, the services and benefits they offer you.  Our collection of spas enables you to browse destination and resort Spas in Mexico, read detailed reviews, browse photos, and make reservations online.

Adult-Only Hotels - Using our Hotels Search page, you can filter hotel choices so that only hotels allowing guests older than 18 years or 21 years are shown in your short-list.   Choosing an adults-only hotel or resort will make for a quieter stay at your accommodation in Mexico.
